IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR(S):
Executive Director
AVAILABILITY:
Spring Semester 2008 Assignment: February 15- May 15, 2008
CLASSIFICATION:
Non-Exempt/Part-Time (25-30 hours per week)
SALARY:
Salary is commensurate with experience. (Range: $8.00 to $10.00 per hour)
SUMMARY:
The Collegiate Intern is expected to assist office staff with completing tasks and assignments. In addition, the collegiate intern will have the opportunity to become knowledgeable in all aspects of the nonprofit industry, with a primary focus on updating membership and chapter records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist in professionally administering incoming calls
2. Periodically type memos, correspondence, reports and other documents
3. Update membership and chapter records
4. Other duties assigned by the Executive Director
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1. Must possess at least a high school diploma
2. Must be a financially active member of a collegiate chapter
3. Excellent phone etiquette
4. Excellent verbal communication skills
5. Punctual
6. Able to work with minimum supervision
7. Customer service driven
8. Knowledge of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
9. Able to multi-task
10. Professional appearance
11. Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time
constraints
12. Ability to proofread typed material for grammatical, typographical or spelling
errors
13. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate in person, by e-mail and
telephone to provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
1. Work is normally performed in a typical office work environment
2. Work is normally performed at an assigned workstation
3. Occasional travel required for fraternity conferences
4. Limited physical effort required
5. No or very limited exposure to physical risk
