Job Description

Receptionist/Office Clerk

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR(S):
Executive Director

AVAILABILITY:
Immediate

CLASSIFICATION:
Non-Exempt/Part-Time (10:00a.m.-3:00p.m.)

SALARY:
Salary is commensurate with experience 

SUMMARY: 
The Receptionist is expected to operate the telephones, promptly at 10:00a.m. and throughout the day until 3:00p.m., Monday through Friday.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
1. Professionally administer all incoming calls
2. Ensure phone calls are redirected accordingly
3. Greet guests in a professional, friendly, hospitable manner
4. Open and close visitor areas (locking doors, closing blinds, turning off lights)
5. Periodically type memos, correspondence, reports and other documents

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1. Must possess at least a high school diploma
2. Excellent phone etiquette
3. Excellent verbal communication skills
4. Punctual
5. Able to work with minimum supervision
6. Customer service driven
7. Knowledge of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
8. Able to multi-task
9. Professional appearance
10. Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time      constraints
11. Ability to proofread typed material for grammatical, typographical or spelling
     errors
12. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate in person, by e-mail and
     telephone to provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT: 
1. Work is normally performed in a typical office work environment
2. Work is normally performed at an assigned receptionist workstation
3. Work is normally performed 10:00a.m.-3:00p.m
4. Occasional travel required for fraternity conferences
5. Limited physical effort required
6. No or very limited exposure to physical risk
